Esdeath X Male! Reader Pt.1: Wanted

This part starts where the prologue ended and jumps from you to Esdeath.

You stood over the smoldering corpse of your abuser with a blank look on your face, it was the smell of smoke that brought you back to your senses. You blinked a few times to focus your (e/c) eyes, you touched your face to pinch it to make sure this wasn’t a dream, but ended up giving yourself a small shock.

“Ouch! Guess this thing is still on. Then again how does it even work?” you asked yourself, looking at the gauntlet. It was black with small horns on the top of it, and some strange designs underneath.

Suddenly you heard banging on the door, “Madam, are you alright!? We heard a crash, please answer us!” said a voice on the other side of the door.

“Damn, must be her guards I’ve got to get out of here.  Wait, you assholes come running for crash but ignored me screaming this whole time?” You thought (but this just depressed and angered you) and then ran to the remaining pieces and put them on, although they seemed to be a bit big for you, when you put them on, they tightened themselves to your size. The gauntlets went from your hands to your elbows and the boots reached up to your knees, while the helmet closed itself comfortably on your head, it had a visor and a low piece completely hiding your face.

“I must look so cool” you thought but couldn’t waist time trying to find a mirror. You went to a window and planned to jump down to the street hoping the armor would protect you. When you jumped you didn’t feel a rush downward but instead a shocking sensation and a rush forward, you somehow ended up crashing into the roof of the building across from the mansion you were in, which was about 50m. You decided to leave your surprise for later first you had to get somewhere safe. There was only one place you could think of, the dojo where had been training on your day’s off, since it was on the main street you thought that you could find a hotel to stay at.

The whole way there you walked through the back alleys, since you had no way to carry the imperial arms you had to wear it, since all you had on was it and your black pants which were were torn and covered in blood you had no choice but to stay hidden. Finally finding a hotel, you were ready to step out of the ally until it hit you that if anyone saw like this they'd call the guards on you, “what I’m I going to do, if I take it off to go get a room and come back for it someone might steal it. Any chance you can camouflage to my skin buddy?” you said speaking to the armor, not actually expecting a response. The suddenly, the pieces opened up and scatted themselves into smaller pieces throughout your body covering it with small pieces of metal, except for the parts covering your hands and feet. “You couldn’t have done that at any point on the here?” you spoke again to the armor this a little annoyed.

Finally reaching the counter you payed for a room (thankfully that crazy woman you were with didn't steal your money while she was torturing you). Before going to sleep you planned your next move, you would start training in the morning become stronger and master this imperial arms and then take your revenge on the ones who turned your life into a living hell.

*Time skip a month, and jump to Esdeath in a meeting with the Minister*

 “So how goes the hunt for Night Raid?” asked the minister as he chomped down on some meat.

“So far we have yet to find them. Perhaps they’re being cautious now that I’m in the capital” replied Esdeath with a disappointed look on her face.

“That reminds me you were on the hunt for your soulmate, I heard you even threw a tournament trying to find him. Any luck on that end?” asked the minister wiping his face clean.

“None, there was one boy who stood out at the end of it, but I didn’t feel anything towards him.” Esdeath replied supporting her head on her hand.

“Well then how about a side mission for you and your new squad?” asked the minister, Esdeath gave interest and asked for the details.

“An imperial arms we had entrusted to one of our generals has appeared in the hands of some unknown individual, apparently he had given it to some woman who was the first victim. There have since been eight other victim, mostly noblemen who like to have “live entertainment” if you catch my meaning.” Explained the minister.

“What kind of imperial arms is it?” asked Esdeath curios to hear more.

“A very powerful one, we call it “Heir of the storm”. It’s a five piece imperial arms, the gauntlets and boots allow the user to move as fast as lightning and also fire thunder bolts at their opponents, they practically become living lightning. However the key to the armor is the helmet, aside from protecting the user as he flies around, it allows the user to process everything at high speeds.” The minister finished explaining.

“You gave some no name general an imperial arms that powerful?” Esdeath questioned.

“It had a very low compatibility rate, everyone who tried activating it was electrocuted to death and became a freshly cooked corpse.” Said the minister

“But now someone has not only activated it, but has also begun mastering it, interesting. Very well my Jaegers and I will handle him.” Stated Esdeath as she walked away.

*the Jaegers meeting room*

“Attention everyone we have an assignment, from the Minister.” Shouted Esdeath calling in her squad.

“A Powerful imperial arms has fallen into the hands of the enemy. Our mission is to bring both back with us to the palace.” Said Esdeath

“Do you mean we are to bring the culprit in alive, general Esdeath?” asked Run

“Yes, but it if it proves to dangerous you are allowed to kill the target. Your safety is the priority.” Answered Esdeath.

She then explained the details of the mission and of the imperial arms to prepare the others.

In the past month you had become used to your armor, you could jump around like lightning, blast lightning from your hands and even kick it from your shins. You had also been quite busy the past month you learned how to use your armors many abilities, though you hadn’t mastered them and used them to kill most of the people who abused you, starting with your father and then the nobles whom Bach had lent you out to, although Bach and some of the other nobles were already killed by the assassin group Night Raid.

Tonight your target was a noblewoman, she liked to give you poison food and make you eat it again when you threw it up. You were planning to shoot lightning down her throat and fry her from the inside. As you got close to her mansion you began to slow down, you landed on the street across from her and were ready for your revenge. When suddenly a giant set of teeth appeared behind you and closed shut with enough force to send a strong wind at you, they would have had you if you hadn’t heard a growl behind you. Leaping back you thought you were safe but suddenly an ocean of flame swept over the street, “what the hell is going on?” you asked yourself jumping to one of the roof tops only for another surprise attack this time it from someone in a blue full body armor punched you back to the street so hard that you could hear your bones break, you nearly made a crater when you hit the street.

“In the name of justice we won’t let you kill another innocent person. Surrender your evil ways or I’ll shoot!” Said a young girl in a green uniform standing on one of the lamb posts, her arm a giant rifle and she was aiming it at you.

“OK, this is either getting crazy or stupid. Whatever it is I’ve had it.” You said calmly, while sending a current through your body. You took a step forward and she fired, but it was to slow, you had disappeared from the streets and reappeared behind her you kicked her down with a light speed kick sending her crashing to the street. When you turned around you saw the ones responsible for your troubles earlier; an armed knight, a tall shirtless man with a mask on and a giant white dog.

“I honestly don’t know how to react to this situation. Who in the hell are you people?” You asked with a confused look on your face.

You spread your arms and opened your hands and let loose a barrage of thunder bolts, the masked man held up a weird weapon, with a part of it attached to his back, he released a torrid of fire that collided with your attack. Without realizing it the knight was behind you and landed another strong punch, this time on your back and from beneath you the dog broke out of the ground and nearly swallowed you whole.

“Oh noooo! Bad boy Kuro, you weren’t supposed to eat him. Our mission was to capture him, capture not eat!” Shouted the knight as he scolded the giant beast.

“Hey don’t be mean to Kuro, Wave, you’re the one who knocked that evildoer into his mouth.”  Said the young girl to the knight.

“I didn’t feed him to Kuro, Seryu, Kuro’s the one who came out of nowhere. You saw it didn’t you Bors, who’s at fault here, me or the Bottomless pit here?” asked Wave to the masked man, as he tapped the beast s stomach.

“Well I couldn’t see anything because of my attack, sorry Wave-kun.” Said the masked man apologizing to his teammate.

Then a sound came from Kuro, his stomach started to rumble and then a bolt of lightning bust out and blood burst out and covered the three along with the streets.

“What does it say about my life that getting eaten by a giant dog isn’t the worst thing that’s happened to me?”  You asked covered in the beasts’ blood and fur as the electricity continued to flow around you.

“What amazing evil, you were able to escape the cage of justice.” Applauded Seryu as she and Kuro clapped.

“I’m not evil I just want to prove that I’m strong enough to never be taken advantage of again!” You shouted as you rose the electricity again and charged at the girl. However a wall of ice came up from the ground and slowed you down enough for Wave to push Seryu out of the way and grab you in a bear hug, you could hear some of your bone being crushed.

“Give up you can’t win!” said Wave struggling to hold you in place, since you were the same height.

“Let’s see whose armor’s the strongest.” You said before releasing your power in the hopes of blasting away your enemy. You accidentally let too much out and end up knocking every one back even yourself, Wave flew into a building his armor disappeared and showed his bloodied body, Bors was able to hold his ground but fell to his knees, the lightning had burned his body badly and even tore his flesh a bit and Kuro had holes blasted into him after he caught Seryu, whose metal arms were blown apart, before she was sent flying, but both ended up being knocked out. You weren’t doing any better, barley able to stand you decided to try and retreat. You turned over your gauntlet and saw the markings were fading, this meant that you were low on power. You charged up to take off one last time, but while charging your legs and back were pierced by what felt like knives and fell to the ground, you tried to stand but a block of ice fell down crushing you.

Defeated your armor hid itself, showing how injured you really were, your face and (h/c) hair were covered in blood you could barely open your (e/c) eyes and could barely see, but you saw two things one seemed to be an angel flying in the sky the other was a tall woman with blue hair.

“Your plan was excellent general Esdeath, not revealing all our forces and using them for surprise attacks worked perfectly.” Said the angel.

“Thank you, Run. Since we didn’t know what he was capable of we had to be cautious, although I do prefer a head on attack without holding back, I want to take him back alive so I had to take a different strategy.” Explained Esdeath as she thanked Run while looking around to her defeated teammates. “One person took down three of my jaegers, just who is this boy?” Esdeath asked as she got closer to you.

When she got close to you she took out her sword and pointed it to your neck.

“What’s your name.” she asked with a curious stare.

“It’s (y/n)” You answered while coughing up some blood.

“Well (y/n), I’m going to take you with me.” She said with a blush and innocent smile as she picked you up as well as Seryu and Kuro and asked Run to get Wave and help Bors.
